Don Phelps was a special & endearing lifelong friend of mine. Memories of our lifelong friendship uplift me but haunt me also. Don was taken far too soon. I never doubted our friendship or that Don would support me if I ever had to call upon him. I am truly saddened by his loss but know he is in a better place. It is painful to me that I cannot offer condolences in person dues to many miles of separation. I still love Don, Kathy, Lisa , Katie & Cathy Fuqua. All of you please know that I will always hold Don in my heart.
Time will lessen your sadness but you will always miss him. Treasure the wonderful memories & know there are others missing Don also.

So sad to hear of Dopey's death. He was a fraternity brother at Western. A great guy who was liked by all who knew him. The last time I saw him was at a Thirteener reunion in Louisville in 2008. May he rest in peace and may his memory be eternal before God. I posted a photo of Don at the 2008 reunion with his pledge class buddy, Dave Disney.

Donnie and I have not stayed in touch for sometime, but he was a dear friend and his passing hurts. I regret now the many times I thought about calling him and did not. He was my best man, teammate, and running buddy. I could tell some stories about him and his escapades. He will always hold a special place in my memories. May his soul rest in peace in God's kingdom.
