My deepest sympathy to Debbie and Karen and their families.
Jo Nell and Mike were always so kind to all of the teens that hung out at the PillBox. Their influence was positive in every way, and it impacted us all. Whether it was being given a job, or a reprimand for doing silly things. I know the boys all appreciated them for allowing them to form their WAF club.
The Sunday picnics and get togethers were memorable.
Thank you both for sharing your parents with everyone.
May God hold you in his arms and comfort you, and may His peace be with you always!
Most sincerely,
Sally D. Flynn

Jo Nell was my grandmothers neighbor and friend (Roberta Padgett) for a long time. I have lots of memories playing in her home when I was growing up. My thoughts are with the family at this time.

Karen, David, Lindsey and Michelle. It breaks my heart that David and I will be unable to attend but our hearts are with you. I loved JoNell so much. To me being a brand new Pastor's wife, JoNell offered unlimited support and encouragement. As I got to know her better, her love for the Lord and her family became evident. David would often mention JoNell's smile of support for him as he preached. I can't think of anyone else who always offered her love and encouragement, not only to David but to anyone who was participating in worship. I remember our trips together for women conferences and how much fun we all had. Some of my favorite times were the basket parties she threw (don't roll your eyes, David!). I enjoyed having conversations with her after the show about you guys, people she was concerned about and all things pretty! She'd share recipes with me, her crafts that she painted and so many other things. JoNell was a treasure to us all and I'm so thankful you all shared her with me. I grieve with you and pray for you as you adjust to life with JoNell being already Home. It's a great blessing but still difficult to take in. She getting everything 'pretty' for when you meet again. Love you guys so much - Paula Head

Deb & I are saddened to learn of Jo Nell's passing. She was the best friend our family ever had. Dad taught Mike and Jo Nell at Frankfort High, and my Mother, Roberta (Berta) Padgett talked with and visited her almost every day from 1964 until she died January 2016. They were even together at Ashwood Place Residential Retirement Community, in Frankfort. We even built a separate sidewalk and gate between the houses (they lived next door) to ease the trip back and forth.
Jo Nell was also very, very good to me as a teenager. I was at her house more than my own from 1966-1968. I last saw Jo Nell at Ashwood as I was emptying Mom's apartment after she died. We sat in the lobby and had a nice visit and of course I got a big hug from her before I left. Everyone got a big hug from Jo Nell!
She was a wonderful, kind, loving lady and the world is a bit poorer for her departure, however, I am sure she is both out of pain and with her beloved mad man, Mike. They were a pair for the ages.
We love and miss you Jo Nell!
Dave & Deb Padgett

Dear Sullivan Family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jo Nell. I managed a KYDOT construction field office in the Louisville District back in the late 1970's and 1980's when we were rebuilding I-65, the Watterson Expressway, and completing the Gene Snyder Freeway. I don't think there was a day that I did not call the Physical Section of Central Lab and speak with her to check approved heat numbers on reinforcing steel. She was my "go to" person at the Central Lab if I was not sure who I needed to speak to concerning materials issues. She was always cheerful and happy although she was having some medical problems during this time. I always enjoyed our conversation. I will remember Jo Nell, and all of your family in my daily prayers.
