Obituary of Dean Bechtol
Please share a memory of Dean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Dean Bechtol, 59, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020 in Frankfort, Kentucky. Born in Atlantic, Iowa on April 11, 1961, he was a graduate of the school of hard knocks and worked in erecting steel buildings and bridges, living in several different places throughout his life thanks to his traveler’s spirit. Dean had a kind and gentle soul and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved kids, horses, training dogs, farm life, and tinkering on cars. He would occasionally attend Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church or Bagdad Baptist Church.
Dean was the son of the late Richard Dean Bechtol and Roberta Jean Kingston Bechtol. He is survived by five daughters, Emily Kate Bechtol, Dawn Guthzeit, Trina Mack, Jackie Mack, and Hailey Virgilio; three sons, Tony Mack, Troy Mack, and Joe Virgilio; five sisters, Elizabeth Anderson, Kim Torrens, Missy Squires, Brooke Billings, and Darling Dirocco; three brothers, Dan Bechtol, Heath Bechtol, and Marc Carr; eight grandchildren; and his step-father, Michael Holler, who was a tremendous financial help to Dean over the past few years. He also leaves behind Becky Mack, with whom he shared life for over twenty years, and his ex-wife Michelle Bechtol.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Rogers Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
