Margaret and I went to school together in the same class for 12 years, from first grade to high school graduation. Margaret and I played the parts of a senior citizen married couple in our high school senior play. In all those years I watched her grow from a pretty and amiable grade schooler to a young woman of dignity, grace and respect for others. Margaret, you were a splendid example for all who knew you. Rest well.

My sincere condolences to the family. Margaret was a true friend. My family has known her for many years, through 3 generations. What a blessing it has been to enjoy the friendship of such a beautiful soul! She was beautiful from the inside, she lit up a room whenever she entered, many friends looked for her and welcomed her company. Margaret always said what she meant and meant what she said. She was truthful and tactful, considerate and caring.
Margaret sat with me at my son's grave and we said the rosary together, just 6 months after his death. She had felt the same heartache and knew the same pain after losing her own son. Margaret planted two trees in my son's memory, one when the new Good Shepherd Church was first being built, that had to be uprooted later due to construction, and a holly tree 5 years later after the first oak had died. We shared a sorrowful bond. She did not announce the many kind works she did over the years, but quietly performed many works of mercy, often anonymously. Margaret will be forever remembered in our hearts! I treasure the moments we spent together and conversations we had over the years!

I have very fond memories of Margaret while growing up and attending Good Shepherd Church when young. And my mother, Betty Mitchell, was very fond of Margaret and is saddened this a.m. to learn of her death. She would ask me to ask around and find out how Margaret was doing in recent history. I don't guess either lady was attending the monthly "Old Shep" meetings at Good Shepherd, but I know seeing others at that luncheon get-together was a highlight to my mom.
My condolences to all the Ratliff, Taylor and Tinsley families for Margaret's passing. She really did light up a room with that big wide smile of hers.
