Dear Joy, Kathy, Glenn, David and Family: My heart goes out to all of you on the loss of your father and grandfather ... I too have loss both of my parents, and I miss them deeply. Our parents are not perfect, and sometimes they make mistakes in raising us, but we love them anyway.....even more so as we get older and inherit the wisdom that only comes with age.... I wish all of you comfort in your loss... The best comfort there is, is the true hope found only in the Holy Bible, it is the resurrection hope! (John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15; John 6:40) ….. Just think for a moment, if death had been a part of God's plan for us, it wouldn't hurt so much when we lose a loved one to death. In fact, if death were part of God's plan for us, it would be effortless and pain free. It would feel natural to let go.... but in fact, it does not feel natural and it is most difficult to let go when we lose a loved one to death..... My Mom passed away 30 years ago, and my father 51 years ago, and they both still fill my thoughts. That is why Jesus Christ came to earth and died for our sins.... so we could LIVE! .... Not just 70, 80, or 90 years, but everlastingly, here on earth with all of our loved ones around us..... Think of the Garden of Eden.... Adam was told he would die, ONLY if he ate from the forbidden tree. Genesis 2:16, 17 says: "Jehovah God also gave this command to the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die."" ..... And, as we know, 20/20 hind sight, both Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree and that's why we die, not because it was part of God's plan for us...
