One of only a few teachers, who was always soft spoken, always seemed laid back and I never remembered her moods affecting her teaching or her personality as some definitely did. That Sophomore year in Biology, she was the one that brought me into the world of DNA and genetics....to the class breakdown of the animal kingdom. Kept it interesting, and the knowledge she gave to me never left. I remember one day, we were talking genetics...and she said something about the bald gene...so after class I went to her...and she lifted up the side of that blown back 70s hairdo I had then and said..."you will have a receding baldness not pattern male baldness"....which absolutely put me in a panic...she started laughing at me and told me..."Billy. don't worry about it...a lot of women like bald men"....I just looked down shaking my head thinking...well...it's something to look forward to when I get old like 30..lol...later in life I met Mr. Sandlin who made beer as a side hobby. A group of us started making it then we would have tastings at the Sandlin household which I attended a few of those back in the 90s, with Mr. and Mrs. Sandlin always being excellent hosts...I pray for strength and healing for her family and that they all will see each other again on that wonderful day.....Good bye Mrs. Sandlin, you were a part of my life that I never forgot...

She was an amazing teacher. You always have the teacher that you feel made a big impact on your life and she was the one. No matter what she made every student feel like they belonged. I am truly blessed to have been one of her students. Rest in peace.

Bob and I share many memories together with the Sandlins. I taught with Nancy at Balb Knob and County, along with our husbands. We did couple things for years. Jim was Bob’s best man. We count them as dear old friends pdqBB

Mrs. Sandlin was such an honest and sweet woman. She always made class enjoyable and never had a bad day. I knew that going to see her would ease all the stress away and I could talk to her about anything and know that she heard me and cared enough about me as a person to listen no matter if she were my teacher or not.
She had a gentle soul, a farm girl smile and loved life and her students immensely. She will be missed and remembered as one of Franklin County High Schools greats in my book.
My blessings and condolences to the family.
