Jean LaMaster Gayle, 81, Frankfort, KY passed away, on November 18, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on February 5, 1937 to Orem and Nancy LaMaster and grew up in Lexington. She attended the University of Kentucky where she was named the “Most Beautiful Sophomore woman”. Her beauty extended to her warm and gracious manner.

She was the wife of the late Frank Coburn Gayle, Jr. and the mother of three children – Dianna Witt (Greg), Mike Gayle (Susan) and Sara Shields (Greg) and grandmother to Matthew Coburn, Brendan Patrick and Sean Michael Shields, Christina Marie Witt and Emma Nichole Gayle.

She was predeceased by two sisters Mary Hixson and Nancy Barnett.

Jean sang in the choir at South Frankfort Presbyterian Church and at various local events including the Frankfort Women’s Club cabaret. She also received many awards for her floral designs including the distinction of Master Flower Designer and Floral Show Judge. Other hobbies included gardening and playing tennis and bridge with her friends.

The family would like to thank the kind caregivers at Heritage Hall Care Center in Lawrenceburg for their attentiveness and care over the years.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at Rogers Funeral Home in Frankfort on Monday, November 26, between 10AM-12AM. Services will immediately follow at 12:00 PM.
