Obituary of Jack Rhody, Sr.
Jack Montgomery Rhody Sr. also known as Monty, 77, of Frankfort, Ky., died Wednesday, May 23, 2017, after a brief battle with cancer. Jack was born on Aug. 14, 1939, to the late Robert Eugene Rhody and Rebecka Pickett Woodson. Jack leaves behind his wife Gayle Bradford Rhody of Lehi, Utah, and is preceded in death by his wife Diana Pence Rhody.
He is survived by his daughter, Amber Rhody Bruder (Joe); daughter, Cynthia Rhody; son, Jack Montgomery Rhody Jr. “Monty” (Erin); son, Jonmark Rhody (Larissa); and son, Andrew Rhody (Kristy). He also leaves behind his brother, Douglas Rhody (Frankfort, Ky.); five step-children; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Jack served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne as a Paratrooper. He had a successful 30 year career with Kentucky serving as Director of Building Codes Enforcement and retired in the spring of 1999.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 1 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 101 Bogie Lee Ave. in Frankfort. A viewing will be held prior from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. A graveside service will immediately follow the funeral at the Frankfort Cemetery and military honors will be rendered by the VFW Post 4075.
