Obituary of Dorothy Dunstall Lea

Dorothy Dunstall Lea, 96, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016.
Born in Owensboro on September 17, 1920, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Donal Dunstall and Evelyn Murray Dunstall Hudson, and the wife of the late William "Pete" Lea. She was a graduate of Frankfort High School and attended Christian Women's College where she studied dance, and later studied at the New York School of Ballet in New York City.
Dorothy returned to Frankfort and married her husband Pete in 1940. She taught ballroom dance to young adults and various forms of dance to children, and she was a life-long member of the Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Lea; her daughter-in-law, Vicki Lea; two granddaughters, Jessica Lea Van Sickel (Nate) and Amanda Lea Yeary (Chris); and three great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, James A.M. Lea; a sister, Evelyn Dunstall Gilpin; and a brother, Donal Dunstall.
Visitation will be at Rogers Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday. A graveside service will be held in the Frankfort Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Friday.
Honorary bearers will be Nate Van Sickel, Chris Yeary, Bill Johnson, Harry Borders, Matthew Huddleston, Ed Rall, and Roy Gray.
Flowers are welcomed, while contributions in Dorothy's memory are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or L.I.F.E. House for Animals.
