Many people feel privileged to have know someone famous. But, I have the honor of knowing and having Jean as my cousin. She was a wonderful, loving and welcoming person all her living days. Her mother, Ivie, was my grandfather's sister. Jean was just like her Mom. She made you feel good to be around her and she couldn't wait to do something for you.
We made a couple of trips a year to visit with Jean, and our other cousin Vicki Stringer. They both spent a lot of their personal time working for others and caring for the Lebanon Cemetary, once known as Rodgers' Cemetary.
Three years ago, we attended the dedication ceremony of the Rodgers heritage and the now standing plaque at the cemetery. Jean spoke that day and I was so proud of her.
We will all deeply miss her and her special ways. God bless all her family that we have never met but heard so much about. May our Lord comfort you in your grief.
