Obituary of Louise Armstrong

Louise Thomason Armstrong, 97, widow of the late John L. Armstrong, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2016.
Born in Muhlenburg County on February 2, 1919, Louise was the daughter of the late James Lue and Leona Stokes Jones Thomason. She attended the Cleaton School, was a housewife and worked for many years at Marcus Furniture. She had attended the Holiness Church of Cleaton, loved cooking, sewing, and fishing; and spending time with family and friends.
Louise is survived by four daughters, Joyce Marshall (Tom), Wanda Karsner (Bob), Betty Hamilton, and Bonnie Howard; two sons, Jerry Mayes (Dottie) and Jim Armstrong (Debbie); 32 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and 94 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Mayes; a son, Edward W. Armstrong; a sister, Gladys Thomason; and a brother, Edward Thomason.
Services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday followed by interment in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday. Rev. Bob Karsner will officiate the services.
Pallbearers will be John Armstrong, Jeremy Armstrong, David Netherton, Andrew Netherton, Gary Newton, Steve Newton, Bobby Newton, and Roylin J. Lacy.
Honorary bearers will be Louise's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
