Obituary of Thomas Ezra "Tommy" Cummins

Thomas Ezra “Tommy” Cummins, 59, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Rogers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with visitation preceding at 10:00 a.m. Tommy will be laid to rest in the Monterey Cemetery in Owen County. Tommy was born on January 20, 1957 in City of David, Benton Harbor, Michigan. He worked in construction as a backhoe owner and operator and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors left to cherish Tommy’s memory include his wife, Janet Lenn Willard Cummins; his daughter, Taylor Lenn Cummins; his mother, Elizabeth Slattery Gantley; three sisters, Brenda McGregor, Patricia Maddox (Eddie), and Melanie Cummins; his mother-in-law, Mary Jane Willard; sister-in-law, Rhonda Willard; three brothers-in-law, Steve Willard (Stephanie), Randall Willard, and Kyle Willard (Cindy); and special aunt-in-law, Shirley Middleton. He was preceded in death by his father, June Franklin Cummins. Pallbearers will be Craig Willard, Justin McGregor, Jeremy Barnett, Thomas Ray Cummins, Joe Manypenny, Marvin Wynn, Dudley Gilbert, Mark Haydon, Gordon Sanders, and Rick Cammuse. Pastor Tim Jumpp and Brother Everett Hawkins will officate the services. Flowers are welcomed, while memorial contributions in Tommy’s memory are suggested to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates.
