Obituary of Lucy Kelly LaFontaine

Lucy Kelly LaFontaine, 76, wife of Vincent LaFontaine, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2015.
Born in Louisville on December 17, 1939, Lucy was the daughter of the late Robert Edwin Kelly and Lucy Marshall Samuels Kelly. She was a graduate of Central High School in Clinton, Ky. and received an Associate Degree in Applied Science – Radiologic Technology from the Lexington Technological Institute followed by both a Bachelor’s of Health Science and a Master’s of Science Education from the University of Kentucky. She spent over thirty years teaching radiologic technology, first at Good Samaritan Hospital and then at Lexington Community College after being recruited by Dr. Wethington to serve in a teaching position while continuing her education.
Lucy was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Ky. Society of Radiologic Technology.
Along with her husband, Lucy is survived by a sister, Mary Kelly Puckett; a brother, Robert E. Kelly; and several nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in the Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Father Charles Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Frankfort Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church after 9:00 a.m. Monday and at Rogers Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, with a Christian Prayer Vigil at 7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Bill Newman, Mike Mucci, Edward LaFontaine, Robert Kelly, Frank Rassenfoss, Chuck Rassenfoss, Ryan Rassenfoss, and Terry LaFontaine.
Contributions in Lucy’s memory are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
