Missing my friend, Lynn! We met years ago beause of mutual genealogy searching and then became great e-mail buddies, talking about everything and anything. I felt I knew her family, neighbors, and friends. Basketball season reminds me so much of her...as will the Kentucky Derby time.

Lynn and I were classmates at Mary Washington College. I remember her as being very friendly and usually wearing a smile. She impressed us girls when she told us she changed the oil in her car. For many years we kept in touch through our Christmas cards. She will be missed.
May God give you peace and strength during this sad time.
With Sincere Sympathy,
Clara Sue Durden Ashley

Lynn was one of the movers and shakers of the Class of 1961 at Mary Washington College and always brought enthusiasm and fun to any event. (I believe she was one of the "founders"of Tweed Day sophomore year.) We communicated after graduation at Xmas and sometimes in between. Andy and I were always glad to see her at our class reunions and were sad when she no longer could come. She fought a long time with her lung disease and we extend our deepest sympathy to her family.

To my dear friend in Heaven, Lynn C. McCarthy~
It will all be smooth sailing now, dear friend and classmate! You bore your suffering and pain in the Stoic tradition but as a committed Christian you now claim the resurrection, freed from the confines of your physical body!
I will miss your physical presence, especially at MWC Reunions, in our phone chats and in our LONG emails through the years. You were truly a Stoic but your heart was always responsive to the physical and emotional needs of others, especially children. You were so wise and yet practical in giving of yourself.
I will visit the daffodils next Spring on the hillside behind DuPont. You placed them there in memoriam to our dear friend, Dean Mary Ellen Stephenson. They are NOW a living memorial to you BOTH. Your many loving deeds live after you, dearest Lynn. Becky

Lynn was a good friend in college and afterward, as we aged and communicated by email and telephone.
Lynn and I played sports together at Mary Washington and attended reunions at MWC, now University of Mary Washington with other friends.
We stayed in contact with each other and emailed weekly until just before her death. Lynn was a true friend and we shared so many thoughts and feelings over the years.
I will miss her greatly but will focus on our many memories.
