Obituary of Alfred Lee "Poochie" Baker

Alfred Lee "Poochie" Baker, 76, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 following a long illness. Celebration of Life services will be held at the Peaks Mill Christian Church at 1:00 p.m. Friday with Bro. Ronnie McKinney and Bro Harold Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in the Peaks Mill Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday. Born on January 10, 1939, Alfred was the son of the late Thomas A. and Millie Hager Baker. He was a loving husband of the late Pat Reeves Baker and Virginia Frances Brock Baker; father of two daughters, Gaila Baker McElwain and Andrea Baker Hillard; step-father to Ricky Graves, Lisa Gist, and Douglas Graves; grandfather of six and great-grandfather of six. Alfred loved the Lord and his entire church family at Peaks Mill Christian, as well as his neighbors and the Peaks Mill community. He was retired from the Brock McVey Company. Pallbearers will be Randy Thompson, David Lane Thompson, Joseph Barnett, Sam Hilliard, Zach Hillard, and Roger Perkins. Honorary bearers will be Mrs. Judy Thompson, Mr. & Mrs. Wilber Perkins, Mr. and Mrs. Deanie Rambo, and Mr. & Mrs. Melvin Mason. Contributions in his memory are suggested to the Peaks Mill Christian Church Cemetery Fund.
