Obituary of Gloria Harper

Gloria Ann Harper, 79, wife of Clarence Harper, passed away Tuesday, March 3rd at her home. Born in Glasgow on April 9, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John Luther Burgess and Orene Baxter Burgess. Gloria, affectionately known as "Momma Jo", worked for Kentucky State Government for 30 years before retiring. She had a love for cats and dogs that was unimaginable, and enjoyed making late-night phone calls. Along with her husband, she is also survived by three grandchildren, Amber, Jerrick (Kara), and Jessica (Miguel); and five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Christian, Caitlyn, Savannah, and Casimari. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Abrams, and sister, Vanessa Poynter. Services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Monday with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
