Obituary of Elizabeth Lutkemeier

Elizabeth Mae Lutkemeier, 98, died Thursday, December 4, 2014. She was born on May 30, 1916, and was preceded on death by her parents, John H. and Mamie Weisenberger Lutkemeier, and a sister, Mary Evelyn Lutkemeier. Elizabeth attended Good Shepherd School, graduating from the Cardome Academy in 1933 and the University of Kentucky in 1937. She was the first woman to obtain her CPA license in Kentucky, and retired from the Kentucky Revenue Department in 1981 after 44 years of service where she was blessed to work along side her sister. Elizabeth was a life-long member of Good Shepherd Church, a member of the Cardome Academy Association, University of Kentucky Alumni Association, Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Kentucky Public Retirees, and the Franklin County Council on Aging. Elizabeth's family includes Lynne Lee (the late Clella Lee); Nicole, Larry, Ryan, and Kennedy Allison; and Jason, Tiffany, and Logan Lee, all of Frankfort, and cousins Cindy Howser of Frankfort, ann Leslie (Jerry) Edwards of Kettering, Ohio, and Nancy (Bob) Leahy of Louisville. Elizabeth was blessed with a loving church family , life-long friends, and many special co-workers. Her family would like to give special thanks to Father Charles Howell for his continued love and support over the years, and to the Franklin County Home Health staff, especially her nurse Kathy Vanover, for the many wonderful years of excellent, loving care. Visitation will be held at Good Shepherd Church on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:00 am, with the Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 10:00 am. Reverend Father Charles Howell will officiate. Burial will take place in the Frankfort Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Lee, Larry Allison, Butch Smith, Kevin O'Neil, Bryan Leake, and John Tanner. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
