Michael Wayne Wilson, 66, passed away Monday morning in the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born in Frankfort on September 24, 1948, Mike was the son of the late Granville and Marie Dean Wilson. An Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, he had worked at the Schenley Distillery and as a Property Officer for Kentucky State Government. After playing baseball as a child, Mike loved softball and enjoyed playing throughout his adult life. Mike is survived by a daughter, Gay Lynn Wilson Phillips Tincher; two sons, Tyler Scott Wilson and Troy Lane Wilson; a special companion, Marilyn Hensley; two sisters, Cheri Shelton and Janice Boone (Jerry); a brother, Bobby Dale Wilson (Elizabeth); seven grandchildren, Amber, Autumn, Jessica, Lucas, and Justin Wilson and Blaine and Reed Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Naomi West, and Kyler and Braylen Phillips; and several nieces and nephews. Rev. Mike Napier will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Paul Brewer, Kenny Hiles, Ricky Groves, Tyler Wilson, Troy Wilson, and Bobby Wilson. Honorary bearers will be George Aldridge, Edgar Pulliam, Ronnie Hockensmith, Nathan Hensley, Howard Hensley, and Doug Stucker. A funeral service will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
