Obituary of Shirley LaFontaine

Shirley Louise Conway LaFontaine, 79, wife of G. Edward LaFontaine, passed away at her home Monday morning.
Born in Frankfort on April 12, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Morgan Conway and Frances Mae Brown. Along with her husband, she is also survived by five children, Debbie (Joe) Mudd of Shelbyville, Sharon (Ronnie) Brophy of Frankfort, Lloyd Scott Thornton of Frankfort, Frances Hollander of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and David (Dragica) Thornton of Frankfort; two sisters, Judy (Cliff) Wilson and Patricia Robinson; two brothers, Kenneth Conway and Joe (Peggy) Conway; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Dean and Allen (Butch) Dean; and a grandson, Richard Morgan Mudd.
Shirley was retired from General Electric and was an active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling and working in her flower beds.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in the Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 12:00 p.m. Friday, followed by interment in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Rogers Funeral Home from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m.; and at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be David Thornton, Jr. Jovanna Thornton, Jon Thornton, Ray Thornton, Marty Hollander, and Chris Mudd.
Honorary bearers will be Sarah Mudd, James Hollander, Katie Gray, Cody Emery, Logan Gray, and Cliff Wilson.
Shirleys family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers Susan Larson and Linda Loy who became like family, and to Hospice of the Bluegrass for all of their support and assistance.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Shirleys memory be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
