Obituary of Jean Beck

Jean Demaree Beck, 91, affectionately known to family and friends as "Duchess", passed away Monday morning in the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Born in Winchester on February 19, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Thomas K. and Marietta Jackson Douglas. A graduate of St. Agatha Academy in Winchester, she went on to work for state government in the Dept. of Banking for 33 years. Jean was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
Jean is survived by two sons, Doug Demaree (Terri) and Keith Demaree; two daughters, Laura Biehl (Dean) and Jo Carol Roberts (John. C., Jr.); six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Paul Douglas Demaree; three sisters; and one brother.
Services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. Thursday with Deacon Tom Snyder officiating. Private interment will follow in the Frankfort Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Alan Freeman, Rich Risinger, John C Roberts, Jr., John Paul Roberts, Patrick O'Neil, and Colin Shuttleworth. Honorary bearers will be G.D. and Betty Beach, Steven Crum, M.D., and Fred M. Mahan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean's memory are suggested to the Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
