Obituary of Ruth Meyer

Mamaw Ruth Meyer, born July 21, 1918, went home to bewith the Lord Saturday, February 22, 2014. She was born in Jackson County, Alabama to William Louis Potter and Addie Evans Potter. She later lived in Detroit, MI, where she worked 22.5 years for the Ford Motor Co. before retiring to Frankfort, KY.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, McGahee Smith (1952), and her second husband, William J. Meyer (1982). She is survived by her daughter, Geneva Hall Kendall (JW), her grandchildren Reba Hall Scott (Rusty), Diane Hall Traylor (Rocky), Dwayne Hall (Ruthie), and Keith Hall (Marsha), 12 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.
When she was outside, she was likely working in her garden and when she was inside, she could be found quilting or working on a new jigsaw puzzle. Ms. Meyer was a long time member of East Frankfort Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at Rogers Funeral Home on Monday, February 24 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and Tuesday, February 25 from 11:00 A.M.-1:30 P.M. Funeral services will be at 1:30 Tuesday, officiated by her great grandson Dustin Scott.
Pallbearers will be her great grandsons, Paul Scott, Bradley Mitchell, Craig Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Jesse Traylor and John Traylor. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-granddaughters, Amanda Mandie Scott, Robin Hall Moore, Kristy Hall, Anna Lynn, great-grandson St. Sgt. Joshua Barlow USAF, as well as, Rusty Scott and Rocky Traylor. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Ms. Meyer to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601.
