Francine and Stephen, What a beautiful photo of Michael. God bless you and your family. You have strong faith and trust in God, yet even when we trust Him to keep our children in His loving care, we are saddened and feel the loss of their presence, the sweet smile or the touch of their hand. We worry that somehow our loved one will be afraid or lonely in the interim between this life and heaven. We know that God will wipe every tear from our eyes and make all things new (REV 21:4) because Jesus told us so. We know that death has no power over us because we believe what He told us (1 COR 15:49-58). Yet I remember how I worried when my son was killed, that he would be in the dark or in an unfamiliar place and feel alone or abandoned, even for a short while. One passage that comforted me is (2 PET 3:7) "But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day." It says that God's time is not man's time, that a hundred years is like the blink of an eye to God, who can do all things good for His children. I realized then that the movement from this world to heaven was not perceptible in a scary way for my son, because God makes time as we know it unnecessary. He has everything in His control, not only in heaven but everywhere. Stay strong in your faith, and have no doubt that He has Michael in His loving arms, every moment. With deepest sympathy, Laura Moretti Malena
