Georgetta Lorraine Evans Jones was born to the late Cornelia Belle Harris and George Louis Evans on April 23, 1939. She passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on October 21, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her two sons, Darryl Frederick Jones and Robert Anthony Jones; grandson Damien Mailk Jones; and sisters Jean Tanner, Edrena Gray, and Edith Calhoun. She was also preceded by her two best friends, Linda Marshall and Vivian Walker, who together with Georgetta formed "The Three Musketeers".
Surviving are her daughters Sabrina Jones, Janice Jones, Doris Jones, Kimberly Carr, and Cornelia Jones; sister Daisy Henry; special nephew-son Richard Hawkins; nephews Eric Evans, Keith Tanner, Vernon Tanner, and Patrick Tanner; nieces Allenda Henry, Alisa Henry, and Jeanine Tanner; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Georgetta was a child of God who loved the Lord deeply. She was a faithful attendee of the Capital City Seventh Day Adventist Church, and her genuine, kind, and caring nature led her to serve God and care for others. She fed the multitudes, and believed that caregiving and food service went hand in hand.
