Obituary of Walter Bowen

Walter Howard "Lilman" Bowen, 64, passed away at his home on May 12, 2023. Born in Shelbyville, KY on July 29, 1958, he was the son of the late Walter Johnson and Emma Jean Ford. He was a man constantly on the move, who enjoyed farm work and being outside, and going out for breakfast with his family. He was an avid Kentucky basketball fan and played the lottery pick 3 and pick 4 almost every day. Walter was a simple, quiet man with a good sense of humor. Though he never attended church, he was spiritual in his own way, keeping Bible passages and Scriptures with his most beloved keepsakes. Survivors include two daughters, LaShell Bowen and LaKeesha Jones; a son, James Washington; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Denise Ford, as well as three grandchildren. No services are planned at this time.
