James was a lifetime best of friends. I knew him from my childhood in church & so enjoyed every opportunity to work with, travel with & fellowship with him. It was a real privilege to serve simultaneously with him in public office and on the church staff many years ago. He is no doubt singing in that heavenly choir!!
My prayer is that the Lord may comfort Cindy & family in the assurance that her dad is worshiping eternally as he prepared for in his life.
Love to all the family,
Greg & Norma Pruitt

Mr. Everett was truly a a great Christian man that practiced what he preached! My name is Jana Kinney Turner, I was a student at the Fulton County Area Vocational Center as a school student and was certified in business as an adult student during Mr. Everett’s tenure. He started me off in my clerical career by working a summer job with him when he was Judge Executive. He was truly a servant of God through his good works I believe! RIP

James was a great next-door neighbor and friend to our family. Terry respected James as much as anyone she knew and was thrilled when the Everetts moved next door. I asked for his thoughts so many times and he always seemed to grasp the situation and have sound advice. I learned much about how to organize and work with people from him. He was a master at community involvement and moved Fulton County forward tremendously.
The first time I met him at the teacher orientation beginning the school year I knew he was a leader.
A good Christian man for sure.

Q: How did you meet James M.?
A: Cindy,
I am so sorry for your loss. James was an amazing friend. I met James when my wife, Jane, went to work for him when he became Director of the Kentucky Area Development Districts. Jane would always say how wonderful it was to have had the opportunity to work with James... (I don't believe James ever thought any one actually worked FOR him, because he was a firm believer in everyone being equal.) He will be truly missed. I know Jane has welcomed him with open arms and they are sharing many memories. Prayers for you and your family.

I met James when I was involved in politics in western Kentucky. We both moved to Frankfort around the same time. I will always have fond memories of having dinners with James and discussing current events, sharing stories about western Kentucky.
James was truly the best of us. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of James M.?
A: Mr James was very good at leading music. I sang in choir he directed. We had a good time practicing Christmas Programs and when we performed the end results were beautiful.
Everything he was involved in, he gave 110%. He did great things for Fulton County.
