It is now 3:30 PM in Wolfeboro NH and just a few minutes ago, I was" prompted" to get on google and check the obituaries for Lucy had told me a month or so ago that Mary dan was passing on....
I find this "happening" a manifestation of the fact that our families on the other side of the veil are much closer to us here in mortality than we will ever know and this certainly includes Mary Dan...
For this reason, I know that Mary Dan will remain close to her earthly family as she did while in mortality for I, too, was one of the people to whom she was very kind and caring and showed compassion to a degree not seen in most people...

Mary Dan was exactly what the obituary stated and more. My memories of Mary Dan go back to Old Cloverdale. After my father died in 1962 she took my mother and me in to her family by always making sure we were not alone on weekends and included us in many of the family events. The boys and I would play for hours in the neighborhood and at the Taylor farm on Green Wilson Road. That is where I developed my love for horses and learned to ride. We would play Pony Express and ride all over the farm. I remember we all went to a horse sale and she made sure to let us know not to make a gesture or we would end up in big debt! I learned about sulphur water too. When Sarah was born and started talking, she couldn't say my moms name, Gladys, so she called her GaGa. That is what my grandchildren called her too. Over the years, she always checked on my mom and would drive out to visit with her up until 2017 when mom came to live with me. I will always remember her laugh and her storytelling. She would pepper her stories with a few " choice " words better than anyone. Mary Dan was truly an angel on this earth and had the most caring spirit of anyone I have ever known. I feel like a part of my life is gone now too. I know she and my mom are laughing and having a big time together now.

I AM JO ANN REYNOLDS. OH, WHERE TO BEGIN TO CHOOSE A MEMORY OF MARY DAN. I WORKED WITH HER FOR OVER 25 YEARS AND EVERY DAY WAS A MEMORY. ONE DAY SHE SAID SHE WAS PICKING UP MY TWO OLDEST SONS TO GO WORK IN THE TOBACCO FIELDS. SHE TAUGHT THEM A GREAT LESSON. THEY SAID WE WILL GO TO COLLEGE. WE WOULD LOVE TO GO TO HER HOUSE AND FISH IN HER POND. SHE EVEN LET LANNON FISH WITH US (IF HE SOLD HIS PRODUCE FIRST.) ONE DAY HER HORSE ATE THE SEAT OF MY CAR. SHE LAUGHED AND LAUGHED. MARY DAN WAS ONE OF THE HARDEST WORKING PERSON I'VE EVER KNOWN. SHE WOULD GET UP AT SUNRISE, COOK BREAKFAST FOR THE FARMHANDS AND GET TO WORK AND THEN BACK HOME TO FIX ANOTHER MEAL AND WORK IN THE GARDEN (AND SELLING SHAKLEE IN HER FREE TIME) I AM SO SORRY NOT BEING ABLE TO COME TO HER MEMORIAL, WE WILL BE OUT OF STATE, ONE THING I WANT TO SAY IS SHE WAS SO PROUD OF HER FAMILY. BUT SARAH, SHE WAS SO VERYPROUD OF YOU. I WILL CLOSE WITH A FAVORITE DAY WITH MARY DAN, MY COWORKERS AND I WOULD DELIGHT TO HEAR HER PHONE CONVERSATIONS/ ONE DAY SHE CALLED JC PENNEY TO PLACE AN ORDER, IT WENT SOMETHING LIKE THIS: " I WANT TO ORDER SOME T SHIRTS, NO, I DON'T HAVE THE NUMBER. NO I DON'T HAVE A CATALOG. YOU CAN LOOK IT UP. IT'S ON THE PAGE WITH THE WORK PANTS AND GREEN T SHIRTS. HOW MANY DO I WANT TO ORDER? AT THAT PRICE I DON'T WANT ANY BUT MY HUSBAND ALBERT NEEDS 6 THAT WAS MARY DAN. I WAS BLESSED TO HAVE HER IN MY LIFE.

Having known Mary Dan, the kids and many other family members all my life, I send my sincere condolences. I always thought Mary Dan was a force to be reckoned with! When I was pregnant with my only child, Mary Dan loaded me up with vitamins and that baby was born a whopping 9 lbs and 22" long - which I've always attributed to those vitamins! And I named my child Krista Dann because her father's middle name was Daniel and because I always loved Mary Dan's name. I come from a generation and family background where we most all used double names. So from Betty Ann and Ceci Ann Mitchell and daughter Krista Dann, we salute Mary Dan.
