Obituary of Michael Shayne Gaines

Michael Shayne “Geese” Gaines, age 39, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 2, 2017.

Shayne was born on February 8, 1978 in Frankfort, KY to the late Sharon Stephens Parrent and Michael Ray Gaines.  Shayne was a die-hard University of Kentucky fan.  He was 100% obsessed with anything that pertained to UK blue and often frequented their sporting events.  Shayne had a big heart and a big beautiful smile to match it.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Michael Sheray Gaines, 13; two daughters, Celina Marie Gaines, 6 & Shyanne Naomi Gaines, 4; two sisters, Brook Berry, 44 & Tynisha Calhoun, 43; one brother, David Ray Wideman, 23; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2017 at First Corinthian Baptist Church, 214 Murray St., Frankfort, KY.  The funeral service will follow immediately afterwards at 1:00.
