Obituary of Donald King

Donald Joseph King, 48, passed away on July 9, 2025. The son of the late Donnie Rogers and Helen King, Donald was born in Lexington on October 18, 1976. His greatest love was his family and he was the life of the party, always cracking jokes and stirring the pot, and seldom missed a night of calling to talk with his grandbaby. He also enjoyed CB radio, cookouts, playing cards, watching wrestling, UK basketball and the Reds, and going riding around to get lost and figure out his way home. Donald was the husband of Jessica King; the father of Donald King II, Bryan King, and the late Mary Carolyn King; the brother of Willma Russell (Jeff), Mary Russell (Bryan), Darrell King (Nikki), Mikey King, Ernest King, Clarence Rogers, and Robert King (Anna); and the grandfather of Anna King. He also leaves behind 22 nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held in the Midway Cemetery at 1:30 pm Tuesday, July 22nd. Visitation will be at Rogers Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Jeff Russell, Bryan Russell, Junior Russell, Dylan Russell, Casey Russell, Christopher Phillips, David Grills, Donald King II, Bryan King, and Anthony Lizer. Honorary bearers will be Richard Thiry, Philip Thiry, Johnny Goins, Josh Russell, and Michael Russell.
